The peak is organized in three layers. Each can be used independently. Together they form the economic basis of the machine economy.
The machine layer (peaqOS) is the global entry point for any machine to join the chain as a composable economic actor. It provides verifiable identity, multi-chain wallets, access control, service logging, tokenization, time synchronization, data verification, and payment infrastructure, all non-chain across EVM, SVM, and Move environments.
The trust layer makes devices trustworthy across all chains. It manages shared records, claims and settlement logic, and enforces economic accountability through a decentralized network of trust validators. They verify identities, evaluate transactions, calculate reputation scores, and provide cross-chain attestations, all backed by staked capital.
The service layer connects devices to external service markets through a permissionless switch framework. It discovers service providers, scores them against reputation and cost, creates implementation plans, and scores the results. Any provider can create an adapter and it becomes discoverable to every device in the system.
