UN to Launch Blockchain Academy for Governments

The Asset for the Foundation of the Sciences has announced a partnership with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP). Together, they will create an academy to help governments all over the world integrate Blockchain, AI and other technologies in the public sector.

The new institution will focus on five areas:

  • Expand access to financial products;
  • Transparent governance to combat corruption;
  • Series of supply chain – accountability in public purchases and logistical services;
  • Using smart contracts and symbols to ensure transparency in financing climate change;
  • Promoting digital definition.

Training will include personal workshops, online courses and forums, which are specifically designed to meet the needs of the public sector and local conditions. Each government team will receive organized support throughout the program.

The exact schedule for launching the Blockchain Academy is still unknown. It is said that the first educational programs will start in some countries by 2026.

The official announcement of the initiative will be held at the Tokeen2049 conference in Singapore, scheduled for October 1-2.

“The Blockchain government academy will provide countries for countries to face complex development challenges in new ways, and move from experimentation to implementation with a focus on transparency, inclusiveness and sustainability,” said Irina Sherovic, head of innovation in the United Nations Development Program in Europe and Central Asia.

Professor Paulo Taska, CEO of the Ascetic Science, described the Foundation as a “collective plan for general innovation”.

Initial initiatives to establish Blockchain Academy appeared in 2023, when the agency announced a partnership with the Khwarzaf Foundation.
