Young entrepreneurs in Armenia are using artificial intelligence, drones and blockchain technology to tackle agricultural challenges, from monitoring beehives to precisely spraying crops and tracking the supply chain.
In the countryside ArmeniaAnd small agritech startups are application Artificial intelligence, drones and blockchain technologies to meet the needs of local farmers and producers.
At SkyAgro, drones are used for precision spraying and monitoring of crops, allowing farmers to apply inputs more efficiently, use fewer chemicals and save water – critical improvements in water-scarce regions like the Ararat Valley.
Another startup, BeeSync, uses machine learning devices attached to beehives, analyzing photographic data and environmental sensors to alert beekeepers when hives show signs of disease or stress, which can lead to increased yields.
Blockchain It is also being tested in the wool market by ArmWool, which creates consistent records of every step in the production process, from farmer to artisan, to build product traceability and add value for consumers.
While these technologies hold the promise of improving productivity, startups face economic hurdles in a small local market and are encouraged to take solutions globally to maintain growth.
