MovitOn announced that it has completed the acquisition of Glocalzone, an Estonia-based platform focused on connecting travelers with their cross-border delivery needs. The deal, executed between MovitOn operating entity VAERTECH Solution FZCO and Glocalzone OÜ, represents a significant development in the global logistics sector by combining the well-established Web2 user network and the emerging Web3 infrastructure layer.
At the time of acquisition, Glocalzone reported over 1.3 million registered users, forming what was described as a verified and organically developing ecosystem. The platform has processed more than 600,000 requests, with a large user base actively contributing to travel itineraries across international destinations.
“This acquisition is just the catalyst we need to disrupt logistics models dominated by giants like DHL and FedEx,” MovitOn founder Eric Pekin Tlobeck said in a written statement. “Building a network of this size organically would have taken years of slow, capital-intensive growth. By acquiring Glocalzone, we inherit a global community of human carriers ready to deploy,” he added.
The acquisition provides MovitOn with immediate access to a pre-screened network of travelers across key markets including Türkiye, Brazil, Mexico and the United States. While Glocalzone previously operated as a central marketplace enabling peer-to-peer delivery arrangements, MovitOn is positioning itself as a “Web3 Uber for delivery,” providing the blockchain-based infrastructure for the existing model.
The integration process involves the use of blockchain-based trust mechanisms, smart contract-based escrow systems, and a native token framework. These components aim to integrate Glocalzone’s user base into MovitOn’s Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Network (DePIN) model, reducing reliance on intermediaries and aiming to reduce operational friction and costs within cross-border logistics.
“The synergy between our trusted marketplace and MovitOn’s AI-powered courier matching system is nothing short of transformative,” Dogan Turan, co-founder of Glocalzone, said in a written statement. “We have spent years building trust between travelers and senders alike, and now, we are integrating our 1.3 million users into a smart contract-powered DePIN framework to eliminate all vulnerabilities in today’s logistics systems. This is the moment when peer-to-peer logistics truly takes off.” He added, “It represents a trend.” mainstream and provides a safe and transparent alternative to models of the past.”
The terms of the acquisition specify full platform integration, token incentives, and a smart contract-based settlement system
Under the terms of the agreement, the acquisition includes intellectual property, source code, user databases, and brand assets. Glocalzone’s co-founders, Dogan Turan and Burak Sonmez, are expected to remain involved in advisory roles to support continuity and maintain the operational know-how developed during the platform’s growth phase.
The integration is scheduled to begin immediately, with a phased approach focused on maintaining the user experience. Existing users of Glocalzone are expected to move to MovitOn’s AI-based courier matching system, where factors such as route availability, scheduling and user reputation are used to assign deliveries.
After the transition, the platform will operate under the combined brand “Glocalzone by MovitOn”, maintaining continuity while gradually shifting towards updated technical infrastructure. Incentive structures and loyalty mechanisms are being introduced to encourage adoption of the MVON token as part of the platform’s broader digital economy model.
The system is built on EVM-compatible smart contracts designed to hold payments in escrow until delivery is confirmed by MovitBox IoT verification terminals. This model is presented as a fully automated settlement structure that aims to reduce the need for centralized dispute resolution mechanisms commonly used in traditional logistics systems.
